What you are agreeing to.
This document is a draft scaffoldNot legal advice
The structure below is complete and the clauses say what each term is for, but every figure, deadline and named entity in them is unconfirmed and is marked as such. This page is not yet a contract and must not be relied on as one. It will be replaced with reviewed wording before the first departure is sold.
01
Who these terms bind
These terms are between you โ every person named on a booking โ and the company trading as WYLD ExpeditionEntity unconfirmed , registered in IndiaRegistration pending . The person who makes the booking does so on behalf of everyone named on it and confirms that they have the authority to accept these terms for all of them.
Where WYLD engages a local operator, lodge, vessel or ground handler, that supplier's own terms may also apply to the part of the journey they run. We will tell you where that is the case before you pay anything.
02
Enquiry and booking
There is no online checkout on this site, by design. Every departure is confirmed by conversation: you enquire, we answer personally, and a place is only held once we have written to you confirming it.
- An enquiry is not a booking and holds nothing.
- A place is provisionally held for seven daysPlaceholder from our written confirmation, and released without notice after that if the deposit has not reached us.
- A booking becomes binding on both sides when the deposit clears, not when it is sent.
- Group sizes are capped at six guests, and five on snow leopard departures. We will not exceed those numbers to fit an extra booking.
03
Payment
Prices are quoted per guest and, unless we say otherwise in writing, exclude international flights.
- Deposit
- 25% of the expedition pricePlaceholder , due to confirm a place.
- Balance
- Due 90 daysPlaceholder before departure. Bookings made inside that window are payable in full at confirmation.
- Currency
- Quoted in USDPlaceholder . Bank charges, intermediary fees and any currency conversion loss are yours.
- Taxes
- Indian GST and any park or permit levy applicable at the time of travelRates unconfirmed .
We do not take card payments on this site and do not store payment details anywhere on it.
04
If you cancel
Cancellation takes effect on the day we receive it in writing. Permits, park bookings and lodge deposits for a small-group expedition are committed a long way ahead and are largely non-recoverable, which is what the scale below reflects.
- More than 90 daysPlaceholder before departure โ deposit retained.
- 90 to 60 daysPlaceholder โ 50%Placeholder of the expedition price.
- Fewer than 60 daysPlaceholder โ 100%Placeholder of the expedition price.
If you find someone to take your place and we can transfer the booking without loss, we will, for an administration feeFee unset .
05
If we cancel
We may cancel a departure that has not reached its minimum number, or where conditions on the ground make it unsafe or not worth your airfare. We would rather cancel than run a departure that will not deliver.
- If we cancel for reasons within our control, you choose between a full refund of what you have paid us or a transfer to another departure.
- We do not refund flights, visas or any other arrangement you made yourself. This is the reason clause 07 requires insurance.
- Minimum numbers are confirmed no later than 60 daysPlaceholder before departure.
06
What the price covers
The included and not-included lists on each expedition page form part of these terms for that departure and take precedence over anything general said here. Where an expedition page has no list yet, nothing is included beyond what we have confirmed to you in writing.
07
Insurance you must hold
Travel insurance is a condition of travelling with us, not a recommendation. You must hold cover, valid for the whole journey, for at least:
- Medical treatment and emergency evacuation, including from remote ground and, for Himalayan departures, at altitude.
- Cancellation and curtailment to the value of the expedition price.
- Photographic equipment, to its replacement value. We do not insure your cameras and are not liable for them.
We may ask for your policy number and emergency assistance line before departure, and may refuse travel to anyone who cannot produce cover.
08
Fitness, altitude and medical
Every expedition page states what the days actually demand. You must tell us, before booking, about any medical condition, medication or mobility limit that could affect you or the group in the field.
Ladakh departures work between 3,500 and 4,500 metresRange unconfirmed , where altitude sickness is a real and sometimes rapid risk. Walking safari departures involve unfenced ground on foot. We may decline a booking, or end a guest's participation without refund, where we judge that continuing would put that guest or the group at risk.
09
Wildlife and field risk
These are wild animals on wild ground. We can tell you what the season usually does and where the animals usually are; we cannot promise you will see any particular species, or any species at all, and no part of the price is contingent on a sighting.
Park closures, weather, fire, flood, political restrictions and the animals' own behaviour will change an itinerary, sometimes on the morning. The leader's decision in the field is final on anything affecting safety or the welfare of an animal.
10
Conduct in the field
The field ethics stated on this site are binding on every guest. In particular: engines off at a sighting, no standing in the vehicle, no baiting or calling, no playback, and greater distance at dens, kills and cubs than the local rules require.
Den and kill locations of big cats are not to be published, tagged or geotagged, during or after the expedition. A guest who ignores the ethics, the leader or the park rules may be removed from the expedition without refund and at their own cost.
11
Your photographs and ours
Your photographs are yours. Copyright in every frame you take stays with you, always, and nothing in these terms transfers it.
We may ask separately, in writing and after the expedition, whether we can use a specific frame โ with your name on it. That is a request you can refuse without it affecting anything.
We photograph and film in the field for our own use. If you would rather not appear in that material, tell the leader at the start and we will work around it.
12
Force majeure
Neither side is in breach of these terms for a failure caused by something genuinely outside its control: war, civil unrest, terrorism, epidemic, natural disaster, fire, extreme weather, park or border closure, government action, or the failure of transport we do not operate.
Where force majeure stops a departure running, we will refund what we can actually recover from our suppliers and no more. This is the second reason clause 07 requires insurance.
13
Liability
We accept liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, and for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing in these terms limits that.
Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the expeditionCap unconfirmed , and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed connections, lost earnings or a photograph you did not get.
14
Complaints
Tell the leader in the field, immediately. Almost everything that goes wrong on an expedition can be fixed on the day, and cannot be fixed a month later.
If it is not resolved there, write to us within 28 daysPlaceholder of returning, at tarun@wyldexpedition.com. A person answers.
15
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of IndiaJurisdiction unconfirmed , and the courts of IndiaVenue unconfirmed have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are booking as a consumer resident outside India, this clause does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory law of your own country.
Write to us. A person answers.
There is no booking engine on this site and there will not be one. Every expedition is confirmed by conversation, because at six guests the fit matters more than the transaction.
